Guidelines for securing certification under RA 9242

The Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has issued on how to get certification under RA 9242 "An Act Prescribing the Use of Philippine Tropical Fabric for Uniforms of Public Officials and Employees and for Other Purposes".

The guidelines shall apply to all textile producers, fabric suppliers and garment manufacturers wishing to bid for the uniforms of public officials and employees and for other purposes as provided by RA 9242.

PTRI has prepared, PTRI 165:2005 Textiles - Philippine Tropical Fabrics for Career Dress Apparel - Performance Specification, the minimum requirements for uniforms as basis for evaluation.
