The
Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) conducted a
Seminar/Workshop on Dyeing of Indigenous Fibers for the
local fashion designers and artists on July 26-27 2005 at
its Finishing laboratory in Bicutan, Taguig City.
This seminar/workshop was done in cooperation with the
Department of Science and Technology-NCR to uplift the
technical capability of these designers. They are given
lectures and hands-on on the systematic procedure on dyeing
of buntal, abaca, maguey and other indigenous fibers that
are in demand for high-end fashion.
