IPR Application No. 58962 (Process for the Production of Yarns and Fabrics from Indigenous Natural Fibers)

Description :

These separately packaged technologies pertain to the removal of non-cellulosic materials primarily gums from decorticated pineapple, abaca or banana fibers through chemical and mechanical treatments. These technologies are capital intensive, appropriate for medium to large scale enterprise.

The final output is degummed and softened fiber (pineapple, abaca and banana) that satisfies the industry requirements for yarn and fabric manufacture.

4.  No Degumming Technology for Piña Fiber for the Production of  
     Textile Yarns

Description:

The Technology relates to fiber craft, particularly on pre-treatment of piña fiber for the production of textile yarns. The process could readily be adopted by the industry since it does not require new capital intensive degumming and water treatment facilities.
