83 Students from NVSU-Bayombong Deepen Knowledge on Textile Innovations at DOST-PTRI, Signals Interest in Academic Collaboration
83 students and 7 faculty members from the Bachelor of Science in Home Technology program of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) – Bayombong Campus, under the College of Human Ecology, engaged in an academic enrichment activity at the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) on April 29, 2025.

The group was oriented on significant innovations in textile science held at the TELA Gallery and the Innovation Center for Yarns and Textiles (ICYT). These sessions served as a platform for students to contextualize classroom knowledge within the broader framework of national research and development priorities in the textile sector.
During the course of the activity, NVSU expressed a strong interest in formalizing partnership with DOST-PTRI. The university is particularly keen on pursuing joint research undertakings and establishing a work immersion program that would enhance student exposure to industry practice.
This highlights the mutual interest of both institutions in fostering research-driven partnerships that enhance higher education outcomes while contributing to the development of the Philippine textile industry.
