The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), in collaboration with DOST Region XII and PSTO-South Cotabato, facilitated the training. Participants included members from PSNMPC as well as neighboring cooperatives such as Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) Polomolok Chapter, Landan Polomolok Multipurpose Cooperative (LPMPC), and Tupi Integrated Agricultural Cooperative (TIAC). Through hands-on sessions, the participants learned essential dyeing techniques to transform natural pineapple fibers into vibrant materials for handicraft production.

With their newly acquired skills, the artists are now ready to apply innovative dyeing methods to create more attractive basketry, decorative pieces, and artistic crafts. The initiative is expected to add value to Polomolok’s local products, boost livelihood opportunities, and further promote the region’s rich tradition in fiber handicrafts.
