With a mission to enhance the visibility and appreciation of Philippine textiles in the United States, the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) and The Hinabi Project have formally joined forces. The collaboration was sealed through a Memorandum of Agreement signed by DOST-PTRI Director Julius L. Leaño, Jr. and The Hinabi Project President Dr. Almira Gilles during the KatHABI Fashion Innovation Show at the Philippine Center in New York on June 27, 2024.
